"The World We Keep Inside" by Nate Schwinghammer

Created as a deeply personal one-of-one piece for a close friend, this illustration was inspired by the emotional atmosphere and introspective themes of Hideaway by INZO. The piece explores the balance between chaos and peace, pain and healing — combining brutal blackwork aesthetics, engraved woodcut influence, and symbolic imagery to represent emotional weight, self-reflection, growth, and human connection. The skeletal figure sits in meditation surrounded by life, decay, music, and rebirth, holding together a fractured heart while rooted beneath a blooming lotus. Every element was designed intentionally to reflect struggle, healing, identity, and the invisible battles people carry within themselves. A one-of-one handcrafted illustration created through collaboration, trust, and personal meaning.
